Introduction: World Bank Forest Investment Program, Burkina Faso

How can we assess the impact of interventions that target the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from land-use change and forest degradation? In Burkina Faso, we aim to answer this question.

We will evaluate the potential of satellite earth observation and land-use change models to monitor and evaluate interventions that target carbon sequestration.

LANDMARC will support the monitoring and evaluation of carbon storage in vegetation and negative carbon emissions by providing local stakeholders with satellite-based observations. The LANDMARC partners will also investigate the potential and barriers of scaling-up the selected interventions on the sub-national/national level via land-use models.
