Europe, with the European Union at its heart, is arguably the world region where regional cooperation on climate change is most advanced. EU policy making often takes a distinct supranational form where climate targets and policies are adopted by a delicate process of compromise between the Member States and the EU institutions ,and where strategies such as the European Green Deal often take a distinct regional perspective. LANDMARC has several European case study in countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Switzerland Spain and Portugal.
