Introduction: Organic cropping

This is one of two Switzerland case studies investigating how improved soil carbon storage and reduce soil N2O emissions can be achieved at scale.

We will explore the long-term, large-scale potential (and limitations) of organic cropping to mitigate soil GHG emissions, whilst maintaining economically viable crop production. Organic cropping can mitigate emissions through the improved soil carbon storage and reduced soil N2O emissions.

The case study will complement ecosystem, land use and economic modelling research with stakeholder engagement activities, which will be implemented in the 2021-2024 period.
